WATERBURY STREETZ

IN DEVELOPMENT · PLAYTEST BUILD

Waterbury Streetz is currently being built.

The version you can play right now is only a small test area: a short section of street, a car, a few NPCs, and some things in the environment you can interact with.

This is not the finished game. It is a development build I’m using to test movement, combat, interaction, NPC behavior, controls, and how players try to use the world.

HOW TO PLAY

Move around the block and experiment.

Walk up to people. Talk to them. Try different actions. Start trouble. Fight. Check objects. Try the door. Try things that seem like they should work.

You do not need to follow a specific path.

The point is to try things.

TALKING AND COMMANDS

Waterbury Streetz is being built so you can interact more naturally instead of only choosing from menus.

You can use text commands to type what you want to do.

You can also use the microphone to speak your action or what you want to say.

For example, instead of looking for a button for every possible action, you should be able to try things like:

“Talk to him.”
“Open the door.”
“Kick the door.”
“Grab that.”
“Search him.”

The system is still being developed, so some commands will work and some will not.

And that is exactly why I need people testing it.

TRY THINGS I DIDN’T THINK OF

This is probably the most important part.

If you see something and think:

“I wonder if I can do this…”

Try it.

Try weird things. Try obvious things. Try things I probably forgot to add.

If you try something that feels like it should work and nothing happens, tell me.

Complain about it.

Seriously. 😄

That gives me something specific to add or improve.

The long-term goal is for Waterbury Streetz to let players solve situations in different ways instead of forcing everyone down the same path.

CHARACTER PROGRESSION

In the finished game, what you do will help determine what your character gets better at.

The more you use certain abilities, actions, skills, or styles of play, the more your character will develop in those areas.

Fight a lot, and you may improve at fighting.

Use certain types of actions often, and your character can become better at those things.

Your character should develop based on how you actually play, not just because you clicked a generic level-up button.

IMPORTANT: THIS TEST DOES NOT COUNT YET

The progress you make in the current development build is not permanent character progress.

This version is for testing.

Things may be reset, changed, replaced, rebalanced, or rebuilt while development continues.

So don’t worry about protecting your stats or playing perfectly.

Right now, you are helping me build the game.

WHY PLAYTESTING MATTERS

Every time somebody plays, I learn more.

I learn:

  • what feels fun

  • what feels confusing

  • what controls need work

  • what players naturally try to do

  • what interactions are missing

  • what NPCs should react to

  • what combat needs

  • what needs to be added next

The more people play and experiment, the more useful information I get.

And the more useful information I get, the faster Waterbury Streetz can improve.

So if you play the development build, you are not just playing an unfinished game.

You are helping build Waterbury Streetz.

PLAY. EXPERIMENT. TRY TO BREAK IT. TELL ME WHAT DIDN’T WORK. THEN I CAN MAKE IT WORK.
